Our Mission
The mission of the New Smyrna Beach Police Foundation is to strengthen the effectiveness of the New Smyrna Beach Police Department and enhance community safety by securing private funding for critical needs not covered by tax dollars. Through community support, the Foundation provides advanced training, state-of-the-art technology, and essential equipment, empowering the department to perform at its highest level of service.
The primary objectives of the NSBPF are:
1. Supporting Education and Training
The Foundation invests in advanced education and professional development opportunities for New Smyrna Beach police officers. This includes funding specialized training programs, workshops, and seminars that strengthen skills, enhance expertise, and promote excellence in law enforcement.
2. Enhancing Equipment and Technology
NSBPF provides financial support for essential equipment and technology upgrades that fall outside the Police Department’s annual budget. These investments may include specialized gear, innovative tools, and modern technology that improve officer safety, efficiency, and effectiveness.
3. Expanding, Not Replacing, City Funding
Foundation contributions are intended to supplement the municipal funding dedicated to the New Smyrna Beach Police Department. By adding resources beyond what tax dollars cover, NSBPF helps elevate public safety and support a higher level of service throughout the community.
