David McKenna is a longtime business professional and community leader with more than 35 years of experience. Born and raised in Canada, David has called New Smyrna Beach home for many years and is passionate about giving back to the community.

As Chairman of the New Smyrna Beach Police Foundation, David is dedicated to supporting the men and women of the New Smyrna Beach Police Department and strengthening the relationship between law enforcement and the community.

David also serves as Vice Chairman of the City of New Smyrna Beach Planning & Zoning Board and as a Brand Ambassador for the New Smyrna Beach Area Chamber of Commerce.

Outside of his community commitments, David enjoys golf, traveling with his wife, Jules, and spending time their four long haired dachshunds.

Judy Lewis is a seasoned mortgage banking professional with more than 40 years of experience in the industry, with a career spanning mortgage lending, leadership, education, and training. Judy has proudly called New Smyrna Beach home for the past 16 years.

Community involvement and giving back have long been important to Judy. She has worked with charitable foundations for many years, including the AdventHealth New Smyrna Beach Foundation and Smyrna Cares Foundation. She currently serves as Vice-Chair of the New Smyrna Beach Police Foundation, helping raise much-needed funds to support programs and initiatives that benefit the local community.

Judy is the proud mother of two children, Chelsea and Aidan, and also shares her home with Lola, her beloved fur baby who keeps her on her toes.

Judy is honored to serve on the Foundation and to continue giving back to the community she is proud to call home.

Holly has been a licensed attorney in good standing in Maryland since 1988. My legal career initially was concentrated in commercial litigation and then shifted into medical malpractice litigation.

Over the years she has been involved with hospice, local schools, and other philanthropic endeavors. Holly served on the board of the Maryland First Disability Trust, a non-profit organization specializing in special needs disability trustee services.

Dan Askin has been actively involved in the non-profit area over the past 25 years, most recently serving as Chief Operating Officer of CCA Florida. Currently Dan, and his wife Miriam, own Pedego Electric Bikes New Smyrna Beach.

Mike was born and raised in Orlando and has lived in New Smyrna Beach on a permanent basis for the past 12 years. 

After spending most of his summers in NSB, Mike and his wife Kristen decided to make NSB home.  Mike has been a Banker in the Central Florida market for over 42 years and is currently the Regional President for Pinnacle Financial Partners. 

In the past, Mike has been involved with various other law enforcement agencies and feels it’s important to give back to the department and officers that keep our community safe. 

Outside of work, Mike enjoys playing golf, walking on the beach, traveling and mostly spending time with friends and family.

Ted has created and managed real estate related business ventures for over 35 years. He founded Flagship Companies Group in 2020 and serves currently as CEO. He has and continues to support various charitable and service organizations including Sanford and Winter Park Pregnancy Centers, Ligonier Ministries, Pop Warner Youth Football and Boy Scouts of America.

R.Terry Stephens is originally from West Virginia where he spent 40 years in the real estate business as a Coldwell Banker owner. He’s also opened over a dozen small businesses in a variety of industries, many of which are still open. Terry is a proud Rotarian and has always been active in the community. He has served on many Boards for charitable foundations, non-profits, arts, and community organizations. A lifelong athlete, he has completed scores of marathons, triathlons, and other races and has coached basketball, cross country, and soccer.

Terry and his wife, Virginia, currently live here in the historic district of New Smyrna Beach and have operated the Seahorse Inn on Flagler Avenue since May 2021.

Larry was an international executive most of his working life living and working in all areas of the world.His last assignment was as CEO of Philips Lighting Nafta and head of marketing for them world wide. Retired 2002 he went to sit on board of directors and run companies  for Venture Capital companies. He  currently runs his own investment firm to keep himself busy in retirement. 

Emily Dunbar serves on the New Smyrna Beach Police Foundation Board, where she supports the organization’s marketing and PR. She is passionate about strengthening the Foundation’s presence in the community and building partnerships that support the NSB Police Department and its officers.

Professionally, Emily is the founder and owner of Highline Creative Marketing, a New Smyrna Beach-based marketing company serving local businesses and organizations. Prior to launching Highline, she spent eight years with SoNapa Grille, including serving as Director of Events and Marketing.

As the wife of a police officer, the Foundation’s mission holds personal significance for Emily. She is proud to use her professional experience to further the Foundation’s mission and impact in the community.

Rick Nehls brings more than 30 years of experience in banking, commercial real estate finance, and business ownership. He spent 17 years in banking, ultimately leading a retail banking division, before founding Business Capital Solutions, a commercial real estate finance company he operated for 10 years.

Since 2011, Rick and his wife, Lisa, have owned and operated Owensboro RV, building it into one of the largest independent RV dealerships in the Midwest. They made New Smyrna Beach their full-time home two years ago.

Rick is proud to serve the New Smyrna Beach Police Foundation and give back to the community that has welcomed his family. He brings extensive experience in leadership, financial management, and business development to help the Foundation thoughtfully evaluate opportunities, responsibly manage its resources, and provide meaningful support to the officers who serve New Smyrna Beach.
